Our team at Kershaw Talley Barlow proudly participated in this year’s Levi’s Gran Fondo, a cycling event that raises funds for at-risk youth. The ride is one of America’s premier gran fondo cycling events and offers more routes to choose from than any other event of its kind. This event caters to cyclists of all levels, even families, which is why our firm was proud to see every attorney on our team show up to support the many charities that benefit from this popular ride.
Supporting a Worthy Cause
The Levi’s Gran Fondo event works with the King Ridge Foundation to help children in the community break away from violence and trauma. To date, the cycling events associated with this charity have raised more than $3.2 million to support at-risk youth by supporting various worthy charities.
Some of these charities include the Forget Me Not Farm, (a farm that uses animal- and plant-based therapies to help children), TLC Child and Family Services, (a foster care, adoption, and special education center), and The B-Rad Foundation (an empowering program-based charity that focuses on environmental stewardship, health, and adventure).
What a Ride!
This year, Levi’s Gran Fondo took place on Saturday, October 5, in Santa Rosa, California. Participants chose from 11 different routes, ranging anywhere from 8.8 to 117 miles in length with up to 10,464 feet in elevation gain. This year, roughly 5,500 riders participated in the event. Attorneys William Kershaw, Stuart Talley, Jeffrey Schaff, and legal assistant, Lisa Anderson, tackled one of the more advanced trails, the Medio route, which spans 63 miles at a 3,557 ft. elevation gain.
