Kershaw Talley Barlow Congratulates William J. Lee on Being Named to Emory University’s 2024 Class of 40 Under Forty

William J. Lee

William J. Lee, director of the firm’s nationally recognized Scientific Practice Group, has been selected as one of Emory University’s 2024 Class of 40 Under Forty alumni. This prestigious award honors William’s groundbreaking work in epidemiology, law, and policy, as well as his leadership in handling complex litigation.

William’s work supports federal and state trial, appellate, and Supreme Court litigations. He routinely serves on court-appointed scientific leadership, representing hundreds of thousands of patients in national pharmaceutical and medical device litigations. In recent years, he has developed new lines of causation, liability, and notice evidence that many courts had not previously considered. For his significant contributions to the field of epidemiology and its application to the law, William was elected to the prestigious American College of Epidemiology, where he serves on its Ethics and Policy committee, and as the College’s representative in the International Network for Epidemiology in Policy, which establishes epidemiological policy among the world’s leading epidemiological societies. He was also recently elected to be the next President of the American College of Epidemiology Foundation and in that capacity will oversee research, educational, and philanthropic initiatives of the College.

Emory University’s 40 Under Forty program celebrates alumni under 40 who have made exceptional impacts in their fields and communities. Chosen from a competitive global pool of nominees, the honorees represent excellence in professional achievement, civic leadership, and service to society.
